Hibiscus acetosella
Red Leaf Cranberry Hibiscus, African Rosemallow, False Roselle

With edible, maple-shaped leaves, this bush is very attractive in the garden with its burgundy to dark red/purple color. A perfect warm weather salad, soup & stir-fry ingredient with its pleasantly tart leaves (eaten raw or cooked).

They also produce beautiful flowers to add some extra flare to your garden.
These flowers can be harvested at dusk when they close up, dried and used in teas or raw in salads.

*Planting Instructions:*
Tolerates a wide range of soils. Provide a strict watering schedule for establishment and supplement during dry periods.

If frost is expected, heavy pruning can save the plant from die-off and allow for regrowth from the roots.

It can become a straggly, lanky bushy without pruning.
Can easily be propagated from cutting or seed.
